Caring for zinnias:
Full sun is essential- zinnias need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for strong stems and prolific blooming.
Water at the base of the plant to keep leaves dry and reduce mildew risk. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
Regularly remove spent flowers to encourage continuous flowering. You can aslo cut flower for bouquets. This encourages more blooms!
Provide 6-18 inches between plants to ensure good air circulation
If you would like to fertilize the flower- a light, balanced fertilizer (such as 10-10-10) once a month is sufficient.
Zinnias are heat-loving annuals and are a pollinator magnet. By attracting bees and butterflies, zinnias help improve overall garden health and pollination, which can contribute to stronger, more pest-resistant plants.
